"I have been asked by several people why they are seeing a helicopter so much.

"In late January, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety Aviation Unit. We now share staff that are capable of flying the aircraft. With this agreement we are able to utilize a helicopter twenty-four hours per day five days per week. On the other two days we will utilize the helicopter overnight.

"This is a great asset for our agency as we strive to keep the citizens of Travis County safe. You will see the helicopter more because we are using the resource to assist with patrol."
